Visual Heroine

For anyone who is looking for some inspiration check out
Rodney Smith Photography

His work is brilliant, absurd and great to look at.

The Simple Things...

What does it really take to be appreciated?
All the small acts of kindness you can give, all the advice and friendship you can over flow with of course adds up, but to be truly appreciated is as rare as finding people who love their job.
When something big happens, be it illness, accidents or death- it is then when we realize all the good within someone. Until then, it's overlooked, because we ignore the fact that people are not a constant... they are merely a variable in the grand scheme of life.
It's funny how we channel so much concentration into the routine of life.
Exercises
Eating
Sleeping
Weekly T.V show viewings

but when it comes to reflecting on such important people in our lives, we pass. There are more important matters at hand... like how celebrities in Hollywood choose to spend their time.

Tragedy should not be a turning point for our morality. If we could only learn to use our eyes, hearts, ears, lips everyday to recognize the subtleties that people do to make us content.

Now I'll stop this preaching bullshit and give you a few of my own recognitions. After subconsciously listing the elements of people and life that make the day that much better I came up with these.

1.Turning on the radio to hear your favorite song just starting to play

2.Simple surprises of your favorite snacks and Starbucks beverage

3.Dogs in sweaters

4.Advanced Greens

5.Kisses on the cheek

6 Aimless rants about incoherent topics with your friends that you convince yourself of being philosophical.

Start your own list, look for the subtleties, let someone know you care.

Photo Fix

Oh Toronto , how I love thee.

A friend showed me this website, and I've been addicted ever since.

It's all right letting yourself go as long as you can let yourself back. ~Mick Jagger
I was thinking today about why people seem to wait til the very last minute to say or do the things they want. Is it something about the sand running out of the hour glass that pushes us to take a risk? How different would our lives be if we got the courage to act on our thoughts.. before we say goodbye.
Would you have more friends?
Would you feel better about yourself?
Would you walk away knowing you finally gave someone a piece of your mind?
Would you be able to have someone you loved?

It's alot to consider based upon a simple change of courage.
As one chapter of my life comes to an end, I began thinking about the things I really wish I said or did before waiting for the very last opportunity.
I know my life would have been different.

One of the greatest lives one can live... in my opinion, is being able to know that everytime you say goodbye to someone, you know you have said everything you need to.
Speak your mind. If people don't like what they hear, they probably weren't appreciative in the first place, If you lose someone you love, they probably didn't reciprocate your affection.

Speak. It's worth it.

Sometimes, you need to take a day and do something for yourself. Sometimes, you just need to forget about whatever consequences are haunching at your shoulders and do something.... different, whatever your guilty pleasure may be.
Go for an extra long break, don't go to work or school at all, stay in bed all day... and the list goes on. As I lay in bed currently ( yes, it is almost noon and yes, I should be at school) I can't help but think about how simply wonderful it is to say "fuck you" to our schedules.

It's this tiny little high of rebellion that can make a giant change.
We follow these schedules, these time tables of life day after day becoming literal slaves to time. With such a finite existence, should we spend most of it repeating the same things?
Go. Mix your life up. Piss someone off. Do something
Just for you.

What we call chaos is just patterns we haven't recognized. What we call random is just patterns we cant decipher. What we can't understand we call nonsense. What we can't read we call gibberish. There is no free will. There are no variables. There is only the inevitable.
